Information on the Nortel BCM 50 Phone System

What is the Nortel BCM 50 and can CSM service this phone system?

CSM, as a factory certified Nortel vendor, has been servicing Nortel, Norstar, and Meridian equipment for over 25 years. Beginning in the Tampa area, we branched out and now provide NortelNortel BCM 50 Service Networks support in our core area and also Sarasota, Naples, Orlando, Lakeland, Austin, San Marcos, and also San Antonio and Waco.

Of the Nortel phone systems that we service, the newest product was the BCM 50. Along with it’s larger sister products, the BCM 200, BCM 400, BCM 450, and CS 1000, these systems comprised the final product manufactured by Nortel before their absorption by Avaya, which is also a partner of CSM.

The Nortel BCM family of products easily scaled from a few telephones all the way up to nearly 500. Protocols supported for trunking included copper (POTS), T-1/ PRI, and SIP trunks. Telephone sets

compatible with the systems ranged from the old Meridian telephones and Nortel M series, to the newer Nortel T family of phones, along with a range of VoIP phones. The first version of the Nortel BCM was released in early 2006 as a general release. The final Version was V6 which was general released before 2012, the year that Avaya discontinued the product line. CSM had much success selling and installing the Nortel BCM 50 in Tampa, Sarasota, and Lakeland, along with or other service regions in Florida. When CSM acquired a competitor in Austin, Texas in 2011, the transition for their customer base was simple as that company had also sold the Nortel BCM 50 in Austin, San Marcos, Waco, and San Antonio.

While no longer available as a new phone system, the Nortel BCM 50, BCM 200, BCM 400,  and BCM 450 were solid systems, rarely giving their owners problems. What we like to describe as “quiet enjoyment” for many years.    No matter where you are located in the southeast USA, CSM can service or support your Nortel system, contact us today!
