Why you Should Consider a new NEC Sl2100 Telephone System from CSM South
CSM South has been installing new telephone systems and servicing existing phone systems for clients across the southeast US from our HQ in Tampa, Florida for over 35 years. In that time, we have learned more than a thing or two about traditional phone systems and VoIP products.
One of our most popular phone systems to buy is the NEC Sl2100. This sleek telephone system is a leader in the SMB marketplace, and for good reason., as it is simple to use, competitively priced, and feature rich. Customers like the simplified range of options for telephones, the ease of installation, and the future proof ability to add native VoIP phones or SIP service at any time.
CSM South and our experience with NEC SL2100 for a new telephone system
Where have we installed new NEC telephone systems? Well, in just 2020/2021 we have deployed the product at a manufacturing plant in Bartow, Florida, a law firm in Tampa, Florida, dentists office in Tampa, Florida, boutique independent hotels in Orlando, Florida, a landscape supply firm with two locations in Austin, Texas, and several dozen retail stores across the southeast. Each of these clients chose the NEC SL2100 for specific reasons. Some required a mix of analog/ digital/ VoIP telephones. Others wanted to connect their locations and centralize answering/ reception duties. While some others were just requiring a telephone system refresh and wanted a cost effective solution that also was feature rich.
The NEC SL2100 is a perfect fit for many businesses, especially those who are not ready to move to a fully VoIP telephone system. While the system processor natively operates VoIP telephone lines (SIP trunks) and phones, with the simple addition of station cards, the NEC can accommodate several dozen analog or digital phones. In addition to phones, analog devices such as fax, modem, and door entry systems can be programmed onto the analog ports.
Telephone Options for the NEC SL2100 Telephone System
Telephones on the NEC SL 2100 are designed for ease of use and functionality. Digital phones consist of 12 button and 24 button models. The digital sets have functions easily accessible on pre-programmed buttons, such as voice mail, transfer, mute and Do Not Disturb (DND).
Of course, digital telephones are not the only option for desk phones on a new telephone system from NEC. For VoIP telephones, NEC delivers two really slick options, which are strikingly similar; the primary difference one has a color screen and the other a monochromatic screen.
Finally, regarding telephones, there is a cordless DECT version as well which nicely compliments the desktop sets. It deploys easily, is simple to use, and is highly functional on a new telephone system from NEC:
Even though they are easy to use, sometimes we want to know all the ins & outs of a product. For that, if you are looking for a few specifics on how to use the NEC Sl2100 telephones, download the below Quick Reference guide for all the details.
Line Service Options and Advanced Features on the NEC SL2100 when looking for a new telephone system
For telephone lines, NEC SL2100 can of course use SIP trunks, as already stated, but again, with the available trunk cards, the NEC SL2100 can use traditional copper CO trunks and also T-1/ PRI.
Music on Hold (MOH) is also a breeze on the NEC SL2100 as there is an included MOH port. Or, even better than that, MOH files can be uploaded to the telephone system so be played digitally, providing crisp playback and an ability to easily change files as desired.
In addition to the basics, NEC SL2100 has a wide range of licensable advanced features such as Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), call center, hotel/ motel package, Unified Communications, and more!
